"I spent my life supporting policies that hurt other people but now I'm personally affected, I've changed my mind"
Most "conservative" attitude ever.

[–] Luvs2Spuj@lemmy.world 20 points 2 months ago

Anyone who can change their mind deserves some credit. She's still terrible but also she's in a unique position to actually influence a large number of other terrible people.

“I have been trying tell all you ‘men’ that our kitchen pantry is empty with spider webs, our house has been ransacked, the windows and doors are broken and busted, and the greedy rich bastards have twisted your minds into a sick state that you all continue in the two party toxic political system that acts like college football playoffs yet is burying you and your children and their children and their children in a pine box in a shallow grave,” Greene continued.

LOL they made her woke.

I think it’s edging toward sentience.

I think it finally hit the time for permanent benefits and doesn't want to grift anymore.

Honestly still more integrity than I thought she had. Tucker carlson by comparison will never want for anything yet still spreads russian and white supremacist propaganda for the love of the game.

Her net worth went from $700k to over $26M in her few short years in Congress via fortuitous stock trading in industries she sat in oversight over.

Nah, right wingers having "realizations" is just the enxt stage of the grift homie. You shouldnt have to suddenly realize human rights are invariable. If you have ever spoken out against human rights or for genocide, you are permanantly an enemy imo.

I'm sure the timing of her resignation, the day she qualified for a full pension, and after making millions from insider trading, is just a happy coincidence.

I will never be able to read 'MTG' as anything other than 'Magic the Gathering'.

Majorly Traitor Green.

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 2 points 2 months ago

It was so before she entered the spotlight, and it will be so in a few short weeks.

Afraid to read for fear of agreeing with MTG, seems to be happening a lot lately.

Edit: damn… slow clap.

What's she's done in the past is horrible, but we should see what she does in the future. Changing someone's hard line views isn't easy for a lot of people.

It is fun to watch the Republican splinter.

Yeah I don’t know who pilled her but good job and like Jesus said, something with the taxman or other idk

[–] TheReturnOfPEB@reddthat.com 10 points 1 month ago

pension

health care

stock market money from insider information

"suffered"

[–] Aeao@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago

Not a fan of her work but I also quit jobs with a long rant and a series of “fuck you”s

[–] JesusTheCarpenter@feddit.uk 4 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

While the things she said and did should not be forgotten having such a massive transformation publicly is really impressive. Honestly, how many Republicans absolutely agree with her but would never say that in public due to the fear of persecution and alienation from their own party and community? Respect where respect is due.

I just don't see this scenario in the same light. She did everything she could to make the situation in which she finds herself a reality and she's not trying to enlighten anyone. She's angry that her co-conspirators have turned on her due to a difference in opinion. She's lashing out at internet personalities and literally behaving as if she didn't play an incredibly large part in the creation of this dystopian reality she finds herself in.

Nothing she does or says will enlighten anyone worth persuading. She will simply eventually disappear and live her life out on the millions she made on the backs of the people while those people suffer under laws and regulations she helped make a reality.

[–] JesusTheCarpenter@feddit.uk 1 points 1 month ago

You might be right, let's wait and see.

Surely the leopards won't eat my face....

Have the day you both enabled and voted for.

I... Yea. Pretty much hit the nail on the head.

I know it’s not actually happening, but it’s hard not to see mtg eating the microphone
