I don't get what the annoyance is with "6-7". I've been using it for years and it just means "approximately" or "thereabouts".
The way my kids use it, it doesn't mean anything. They just say it randomly in a drawn out voice.
Can you use it in a sentence?
I'll be there approximately 6-7 thereabouts.
That doesn't sound like you're using it to mean "thereabouts" given that you have the word "thereabouts" in the sentence...
What does it even mean?
I think its whole thing is that it doesn't really mean anything; it's literally just an empty trigger word
