Hi All,

With a few days remaining until the 2025 kick off, its time to get ready to save Christmas once more!

This year is only 12 days, but that just leaves the rest of the month for refining solutions and visualizations.

I have setup a bot to post the solutions threads, but as traditional AoC code style, it likely wont work most of the month. I'll try keep on top of it. As always, if there is something I can do better, please let me know!

Also, thanks to @hades for running the Everybody.Codes threads, its a thankless task, but its good to diversify the challenges.

I have faith that your bot will work! Cheers for organising this again, and thanks for the heads up about the shorter event. I assume the compressed schedule means that the difficulty will ramp up quicker, but we will see.

(btw, you've swapped the order of the [ ] and ( ) in your link)

Woops. Still sure the bot will work? :D

12 days is better IMO, much better chance of more people finishing it. Trying to do 25 days at this. Time of year is practically impossible.

I wasn't even planning on it this year (just have a number of hobby projects that are "unblocked", I'm not burnt out, and I could switch project if I were). But if it's only 12 days... we'll see.

Yeah, I agree, especially towards the end where it gets harder and busier. I think it would have been better to do one challenge per 2 days, so that it finished at christmas eve, but I guess there is nothing stopping someone taking their time with it.

If you have one every other day, it's not habit forming, so I could see that reducing engagement.

Lol, its supposed to be enjoyable, not code-meth :)

But definitely a valid point. Maybe split part 2 of the challenge onto the second day? I guess we'll see how it plays out this year anyway.

Will we be using the same programming dot dev private leaderboard as last time?

[–] CameronDev@programming.dev 4 points 4 weeks ago (1 children)

Yup, as far as I know it should still work.

It's there and showing 12 days. I'm currently beating you.

[–] CameronDev@programming.dev 1 points 4 weeks ago

I'm the other Cameron, but you are still beating me :(

Is the join code somewhere central / could you share it here?

Edit: My client hides read post, it's literally a pinned post in this community: https://programming.dev/post/6631465

Is there a leaderboard for this community?
