Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Trump probably got to her.

[–] ragebutt@lemmy.dbzer0.com 24 points 4 days ago (4 children)

Polling got to her I bet.

That’s what happens when you run as a maga ally and then suddenly grow a backbone. I’m sure she’s seeing internal polling that shows her base has abandoned her and based on her absolutely toxic rhetoric and past she’s not picking up much in terms of votes outside of the maga crowd.

So she saves face and resigns rather than facing the embarrassment of getting destroyed in a primary

If that were the case, why not just serve out the term and not run again? Surely this out of the blue announcement would be a bigger embarrassment than early retirement.

Right. Although I don’t think she has a backbone, I think she played her hand for a 2028 run. I bet she runs.

Sure, that’s a better phrasing. I agree she was ultimately gaming to take over the party post Trump and it backfired on her miserably. Oh well, fuck her

[–] tornavish@lemmy.cafe 3 points 4 days ago

Yeah, I’m not crying for any of them. Frankly, if she is gone for 3 years and pops up later, that’s 3 years I didn’t have to hear her name. Win-win!

No, she definitely did not suddenly grow a backbone. She is seeing an opportunity.

I think a backbone would be a hindrance for all the flip flopping they do. She's just opportunistic, like all of them.

Pretty sure the Trumper threats of violence got to her.

She knows what neo-nazi, domestic terrorists are capable of.

I see them not doing much of anything, so “capable” is a bunch of morbidly obese men who can’t ejaculate trying to be bad asses.

Big people == easy targets.

She can smell and sense the smoke from the fire that will burn everything down ... she's leaving before everything goes to complete dog shit and everyone goes after these MAGA lunatics.

She knows the boat is sinking and has hopped onto one of the lifeboats before everyone panics and jumps into the ocean.

And nothing of value will be lost.

[–] GhostPain@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

Well hell, joyous day. First they get rid of the CIA cutout USAID, then the damn penny and now the trash.

These broken clock Republicans accidentally do good.

Who knew that was possible?
