1. Stay Civil

This is a place for friendly discussion, memes, guides, art, gameplay questions, screenshots and the like. Discrimination and harrassment won't be tolerated.

2. Mark Spoilers

It is okay to post about "related games" (such as Age of Calamity and Breath of the Wild) but please use the spoiler "censor" and do not put spoilers directly into the title, as the censor doesn't work this way. Posts about other Zelda games might be suited better in general Zelda communities, like the ones listed at the bottom of the sidebar.

PS: if you need a little help for HOW to use spoiler tags, look here.

3. Offtopic Posts

Anything not related to the community theme, like politics, religion, non-Zelda games etc. is better suited elsewhere and will be removed. The same goes for NSFW material.

4. No Advertisements

It is okay to post about merchandise, but links to those "design your own merch" sites will be removed, as those are almost always scams featuring stolen art. Affliate links will be removed as well. This isn't Etsy.

5. Provide Sources

If you're going to post art, comics, guides, screenshots etc. that are not your own OC, please mention the name of the original creator and ideally also a link to their portfolio/website. (Pinterest is almost never the original source)

6. Suggestions are Welcome!

Feedback, requests for improvements and constructive criticism are always appreciated ;)

I'm not a huge fan of Musou/Warriors games, but Age of Calamity was interesting enough. Age of Imprisonment blows it away. Unlike AoC, AoI is canon. And it blends seamlessly into TotK's narrative. Nothing feels forced or contrived. It's so satisfying seeing the snippets of Zelda's memories from TotK fleshed out with extra context. It really is "the rest of the story." And a lot of it is told through cut scenes, easily watched on your video platform of choice if the gameplay isn't your cup of tea.

Cheers to the creative teams for pulling this off. I love the world that they built and the characters within it. The lore, the environmental storytelling of BotW, the cinematics of the Warriors games. This is easily my favorite Zelda era.

How is age of calamity not canon? I could’ve sworn it was and the only hyrule warriors that wasn’t canon was the first one on Wii U

"Word of God" says it's canon, but it can't be in the same timeline as BotW because the story of AoC actively prevents BotW from ever happening. Then again, TotK retcons a bunch of stuff from BotW as well (like pretending the Guardians and Divine Beasts never existed or somehow "just disappeared" which still cotradicts the after-credits end scene from BotW) so personally I think that's just an alternate timeline, too.

Or maybe the devs just didn't put much thought into continuity.

How is age of calamity not canon?

Short answer: TerrakoLong answer: The champions' descendants travel back in time to prevent the champions from being killed. King Rhoam survives. Kohga and the Yiga defect. Ganon gets defeated. Hyrule survives.

Age of Calamity was advertised as being canon. Then TotK ignored it for new lore involving sexy goat people, so it's not canon anymore.

I thought it was an alternate timeline

It is an alt timeline. It actively prevents BotW from happening.
