World cup games typically need a load of infrastructure that typically is built especially for the competition.

Aren't republican states famous for neglecting infrastructure? Particularly non-car based infrastructure because of the number of people involved making it entirely non-viable without some form of alternative travel.

Is this even possible with the time remaining without blowing up in his face?

Feels like if he does this it's going to bankrupt the city it goes to

On the other hand red cities are famously huge soccer fans.

😉

Anyone that is a soccer fan will love this. Imagine being arrested bc you are drunk and there's no way to get to and from the match.

I can't think of a single republican city that can host this. No infrastructure or public transit to accommodate this.

All U.S. major events are in democrat cities. I guess people should look up Macon Georgia or Texarkana Tx to get excited about their night life.

Devastating news for the single-digit proportion of the US population that would notice or care if the entire concept of association football winked out of existence

Spoken like a true American. 🫡

Yeah, that's the point. I'd be in a position to tell.

What a clown show. FIFA and the United States really deserve each other.

There are very few cities he could move the games to that aren't Democratic cities. Indianapolis, while mostly Democratic as a city, is surrounded by enough strong Republican areas that it would be fine according to him. Same story with places like Cincinnati, Nashville, Las Vegas, and Pittsburgh (but not Philly). They could all host some games at NFL stadiums and have enough hotels ready.

That said, I don't really care if he moves games away from my city. I have no interest in WAY overpaying to go to a game where Cape Verde battles it out against Iran. I am definitely not paying literally thousands of dollars for a nosebleed seat to see England play Japan.

Fun fact - this image is one of several in which president donald trump can be seen in the oval office shitting on himself.
