In short:

The Allan government will introduce new laws aimed at protecting workers in service jobs to parliament today.

Assaulting or threatening to assault workers in retail, hospitality, fast food or transport will carry a five year jail term as a penalty.

Damn! "Victorian" got me again.

e. g. New Victorian law: "Children who sweep chimneys should not be left to die if they get stuck, as it clogs the flues. Three days should provide sufficient starvation for them to be extricated. They must be allowed a bowl of gruel before resuming work."
