It’s not a nazi “reference” if the author didn’t know, then it’s a coincidence. It does suck that nazis have ruined otherwise great things though, Tesla for example.

Dev seems like a good dude with more self awareness than 10 average people combined.
It reminds me if when ISIS (middle eastern terrorist group) ruined the name Isis (Egyptian god, but also person's given name).
The cartoon Archer took the story in a whole new direction in order to disband the show's fictional organisation that was called ISIS (by coincidence). I thought it was such a shame to let real world bad guys ruin things. Surely by caving to that we are giving them more power than if we held the attitude that other people were using that word first and they can't ruin it.
Having said that, the same argument doesn't seem to work all the time. i think the "Hitler" moustache is permanently ruined.

Chaplin started using the moustache before Hitler ruined it. Then at some point Chaplin actually lampooned Hitler, which reportedly made Hitler cry.
Yeah, talking with my college friend Isis and my pagan friends who worship Isis was weird enough before the terrorists also took the name.
With this devs luck, awww will be co-opted next. Good on them for recognising the mistake and fixing it.
