The only thing I can think of is if they lose track of which animal is yours, they could probably use pictures to identify them. I'd switch vets if that occurred.
It's probably so they can tag the pet on the vet's Instagram stories.

I'm also very high, so it could've been on my end.
They could check for animal abuse. Some people forget that their pet is a living being and not just content.
Guys (and gals), they just want to streamline their source of cute pet pictures.
