What This Means for I2P

Starting immediately, I2P will begin accepting donations through cryptocurrency, credit/debit cards, and bank transfers.

I don't understand why I2P needs StormyCloud for this.

And what "I2P" even means here? i2p-java? All I2P implementations?

They said core software, so I'm assuming the Java implementation.

I can see why they would need a partner for credit and debit cards, but cryptocurrency can be sent without a third party, so I don't see why they would need them for that.

Don't know either but I assume it has something to do with taxes.

How do these people make money? I dont really understand who they are and how they are funded.

Which ones? I2p or StormyCloud?

[–] onlinepersona@programming.dev 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Stormy cloud. I2P is obviously dependent on donations and good will of devs and maintainers.

Same for SC it seems. Non profit relying on donations. Didn't find anything to buy in their site, but there was a donate button.
