I realized that out of all the Trek/Sunny crossover memes that I have created, only about half of them got posted to this community at all. So, I browsed through all my old TenForward posts/comments and grabbed all the Trek/Sunny images to compile them into one post here

And as a bonus, here is something relevant that I only discovered recently: Boldly Going Nowhere

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fR7av02YIAg

Boldly Going Nowhere is a proposed American science fiction single-camera comedy television series created by Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day, Glenn Howerton and Adam Stein that was originally to be aired in 2009 on the Fox network. The series was planned as a parody of the Star Trek franchise in the format of a workplace sitcom; the title was a reference to the famous phrase "To boldly go where no man has gone before" from the opening speech in the first two Star Trek series. A pilot was shot in 2008, but the project was shelved indefinitely. Being from the same creative team as It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, multiple cast members from that series appear, including Howerton and Day, in addition to David Hornsby, Kaitlin Olson, Artemis Pebdani, Chad L. Coleman, and Benjamin Koldyke, who plays the lead character here and also guest starred on Always Sunny.

There was also this one:

Though it only really makes sense with the full context of the comment thread I posted it in (even more so than the goon image above)

1: damn fine work. this is the kind of super meta shitposting I love.

2: god I wish they'd put Boldly into production. we are not worthy I guess.

I wonder what Sunny would look like today, or if it would have ended while they put their time/effort into their new show.

An episode of Sunny like the one where they wake up as black people, but they're on the enterprise as Star Trek characters would be fucking great.

An episode of Star Trek where the cast of Sunny are the alien guest stars of the week might be good but idk... 🤔

I could see either of these working! In addition to "The Gang Turns Black", we have episodes like "The Janitor Always Mops Twice" that prove that IASIP is open to themed episodes that are entirely unrelated to the rest of the series. And I would love to see the gang as a band of misfit alien criminals. Danny DeVito needs to be a Ferengi.
