I don’t get it
Tumblr
Welcome to /c/Tumblr
All the chaos of Tumblr, without actually going to Tumblr.
Rule 1: Be Civil, Not Cursed
This isn’t your personal call-out post.
- No harassment, dogpiling, or brigading
- No bigotry (transphobia, racism, sexism, etc.)
- Keep it fun and weird, not mean-spirited
Rule 2: No Forbidden Posts
Some things belong in the drafts forever. That means:
- No spam or scams
- No porn or sexually explicit content
- No illegal content (don’t make this a federal case)
- NSFW screenshots must be properly tagged
If you see a post that breaks the rules, report it so the mods can handle it. Otherwise just reblog and relax.
You have to be very strong now, I may have bad news.
Thanks, I am still confused.
Is kassidy strong because "society" is forcing her to hide her weakness?
Who said the initial quote?
what is the initial quote about? Did someone die?
What did you say, I mean what does it mean? What bad news fdo you have? Am i stupid? Or just not in on a stupid meme?
It's related to mental strength?
Or actually just physical strength?
Or has the initial quote been sarcastic?
None of these seem to fully fit together.
You can't all just be obscure and reference a meme I dont get.
Kassidy is saying that they're (probably regularly) praised for how strong they are. Being mentally strong and resilient is generally seen as good and something to actively aspire to so as a reader/listener you expect them to be pleased with this. Kassidy, humourous-sarcastic-cynically, turns that expectation around by saying that, while they appreciate the compliment, they were forced to be like that, they did not actively aspire to be strong, and may even prefer not to be strong if in exchange they wouldn't have to have gone through all the BS that made them strong. Basically they're saying "yeah, but at what cost?"
Don't worry about the bad news thing, that was me poking a bit of friendly fun at you because I thought it might make the meaning more obvious. Ignore that part, sorry :)
Ah okay
There's always another choice. It is usually suicide or being murdered. Both can reduce visibility and make conversation difficult.
