[solved] MSI mainboard CPU switching issue (self.techsupport)

So i have an MSI H67MA-E35 mainboard and i got it with a intel i5 2nd gen LGA 1155, that i replaced with an intel i7 3770, also LGA 1155, but now the mainboard makes 4 beeps on boot and shuts down. I've been searching online, but found absolutely nothing, the fact that the motherboard is old also doesn't help.

edit: what i also found, is that it could be a unoperational timer

Edit 2: it was in fact outdated bios 😔

Glad you were able to get it sorted. With Intel, just because it fits the socket doesn't mean it will work. See also: Coffeetime (BIOS mods to make Coffee Lake CPUs work on mobos artificially restricted to buggy Skylake)

Need the full proc #, but I'm guessing you've upgraded to a CPU that isn't compatible with your memory.
