Plastic waste yes, of which nets are but one of the problems. Manufacturers of plastic goods need better regulation surrounding waste reclamation efforts. I once worked at a plant that plastic chips basically went down the drain into the sewers. Sure, there was a trap, that was constantly full and overflowing while we waste gallons of fresh water as coolant that could also easily be reclaimed in a recycler that would double as catchment for excess plastics, but what do I know?! That would cost money!
