The Gen Z protests are a series of worldwide protests predominantly led by Generation Z since the early 2020s.[disputed – discuss] While members of Generation Z have been involved in protests since the 2010s, the trend of demonstrations began with the Aragalaya in Sri Lanka in 2022.[1] The 2025 Nepalese Gen Z protest popularized the term "Gen Z protests" and inspired further Gen Z protests in Asia. Days later, similar protests spread to other continents, with Africa experiencing the Moroccan Gen Z protests, Europe observing the Italian general strikes and protests for Gaza and South America having the Gen Z protests in Peru.
