all the best artists have horrible health.

hope they can focus on themselves and get better, even if they never resume work. they deserve time to heal.

I sure hope it doesn't end up like the mangaka of Highschool of the Dead. He didn't make it.

I wonder if it's partly the stress of the job, and causing neglect of their own health.

Being a mangaka is already hard but I'm sure the really passionate ones push themselves even further. It's little surprise that so many of them have health issues.

Oh shit! THAT'S what happened to that series?? That really sucks. It was so creatively bizarre and has become such a cultural phenomenon. That's so sad. 😢

Being a salaryman in japan feels pretty bleak in the first place, but it seems mangakas have it even worse. It is a pretty terrible job that often eats successful authors.
