We did not fare well

I'm in the blue & orange Citroen, the other two are in the black & yellow VW and the blue & white VW. Other cars are AI. The one in the black & yellow VW had, indeed, completely given up on actually racing by the end

Ah I should really try and get back into rallycross again. I played it a fair bit on Dirt Rally 2, but not tried it on EA WRC yet. I think what’s holding me back I want to get a sequential shifter before I get into that πŸ˜…

Edit: also the guy popping up on the bank at 0:24 mark is hilarious

I absolutely love how DR2's rallycross drives but the limitations on the format of the races are really frustrating. Just let me be in heats with my friends, Codemasters

I wish someone would make a standalone rallycross game! It's always a game mode tacked onto another game. Dirt Rally 2.0 rallycross is pretty fun, but the AI drivers can be frustrating, which seems to be a common complaint with all of the games that have it!

Maybe someday, although with the state of the sport's top level it'll be a while.

Honestly it deserves more attention as a sport in general. It's such a fun format. But yeah, I agree, it's absolutely perfect for a game β€” relatively short tracks, so there's way less demand on the devs, and it's designed to have several cars racing at the same time

Yes, it certainly does! It was starting to get some wider attention with how well WorldRX was doing before they switched to electric and put it behind a paywall. Now we have to hope it recovers from those years! Stage rally is still my favorite motorsport, but rallycross has become a close second. Unfortunately I don't know anyone IRL that's a fan, so I have to go to my community and others online to talk about it!

I honestly think a good game could bring some life to the sport as a whole. I became a rally fan due to the games, and most of the younger fans I know got into it the same way.
