The singer holds both the why and the I. It may or may not be part of the song but I think it also has a segment where the singer goes up a pitch?

Edit: the parts I remmeber sound like and it has a very laid back instrumental track, focusing the voice:

This is obviously not the song, but it is the only song I can find with the exact lyrics: "Why do you keep coming back to me".

Maybe there's another version of the song? A cover perhaps.

Oh, I remember seeing it too on the YouTube music playlist Neon: Pop Hits ~2 months ago. I checked but it is no longer there

No idea sadly, it was on a supermarket radio. Mostly pop stuff.
