I'm friends with several university librarians. They have had several requests for AI hallucinated articles.

i have tried several LLMs now. generally i don't know what they are good for. - i found there is a very specific kind of question, they are actually usefull for. but this doesn't explain the hype.

people reading wikipedia articles to me in a discussion was mildly annoying. now they waste everyones time by reading out loud google's ai summary. acting as if that settles everything.

it's sad that librarians have to deal with this bs. instead of helping us cultivate carefull thought and admitting 'i don't know.' these machines only increase the babble.
