Basically, looking for hardware that's open source that runs or can run on open source software, that controls PC fans, led lights, and or water cooling pump systems.

Something like this but that's already available: https://shop.sasakaranovic.com/products/openfan-pc-fan-controller

Ideally with GUI but not necessary if there's no option

Pretty much any fan controller should work with any software that can access it though USB. LEDs is a bit more complex though. OpenRGB may have what you are looking for.

I use OpenRGB, which works for my keyboard. But the led strips and GPU, even though it detects them, funny light up with it.

They never worked with any other software either though.

I use an Aquacomputer Quadro, which has fantastic support.

To have to pay for it the software. It's what I currently have, and I updated the software one day and now I'm locked out of aquasuite

I don't use aquasuite, I use Linux with Cooler Control. Sorry, I assumed you were also on Linux with the sub.

I do mainly use Linux.

I only have a small window installation for a few games that don't run properly on Linux, and previously, Aquasuite since I couldn't control the hardware with Linux. That's why I was asking for the info.

I'll try Cooler Control, thanks

Good luck! It's been fantastic for me.
