I dont think I fractured it
I broke my hand recently. I suspected, but didn't know, and didn't go to the doctor. I didn't think I broke it at first.
I had broken it. It was much worse than I thought and I got very lucky it didn't get infected, and that it has healed okay since. Go to the doctor.

If you have anything out of the ordinary that lasts more than 24 hours, yeah, get to a doctor.
depends. maybe in this particular case, but not in general. there are some things where you should rush to the doc ASAP, eg. if you suspect poison or if an animal bit you, especially if it's unknown or wild. also there are cases where you can wait two weeks to see if it heals by itself, eg. low/moderate joint or back pain.
I had really bad heartburn, I fought it for 5 days. "Hey, we just had Thanksgiving and you DID have that extra plate of sweet potatoes."
Yeah, it was a heart attack. After 5 days the damage was done and the only fix was full blown open heart surgery.
it's a big problem how heart attacks can easily be mistaken for something else
