With this release we will perform a technical test of Denuvo Anti Cheat on Xbox for Windows. If the test goes well, we'll consider rolling it out incrementally on Steam in Season 8.

We'd also like to point out that we're not utilizing the Digital Rights Management parts of the Denuvo platform.

Compatibility with SteamDeck and Proton has been tested as well, and we are still committed to serving that part of our community.

Well...

Ig another game to avoid.

Currently there is a fix in Proton hotfix and experimental bleeding edge.

Seriously give this game a shot. It can be overwhelming at first. The team at Embark have poured love into this game and you can feel it. It's such a refreshing experience and so much more than the average CoD.

The balancing isn't perfect and questionable at times. There is a bit of a learning curve. You'll certainly run into sweats but hopefully as new players jump in, it will balance out. The game is creative, dumb, and fun all at once. Not the highest game population on pc but it is rock steady between 15k to 20k everyday. That doesn't even include gamers on console. Worth a shot since its free.

Yeah, it's fun asf, but since I have issues with FPS and I don't like playing solo on games like these I never went beyond 40 or so hours

since I have issues with FPS

Frame rate or first person shooters?

I don't like playing solo on games like these

I recommend hoping on the mic or using textchat. You will meet some really fun people. There are clubs you can join now for either competitive or casual people so you can request club members to join your party. They recently added a "Stay as a party" which after a match, does as it implies without adding them as friends. Additionally, you can find people in The Finals discord server with an active linux thread too. You have options. I totally get not wanting to talk to people so I use textchat a lot. Ultimately, if it's still a dealbreaker then not much to say but we both tried.

Damn. I just redownloaded it because someone said it was fixed too...

I need a good FPS with at least semi-modern graphics.

Try proton hotfix or experimental bleeding edge

I just played last night at it was fine. Not to mention last time I noticed an issue (months ago) it was fixed within a week or so. They may not officially support Linux, but they do try to fix issues if they come up...

I was wondering why I got kicked from a match. Didn't have any issues since I started playing last weekend till now.

I feel like playing a shooter lately, dunno why. Is this one good? Worth a shot?

The environmental destruction in this game is really impressive. This and the range of gadgets and weapons enables all sorts of crazy builds and strats.

The main mode (which isn't even my favorite in this game) is a pretty unique 3v3v3. You see a really interesting mix of galaxy brain plays with really dumb ones lol

My favorite mode is Power Shift, which is "king of the hill" on a moving platform, tug-of-war style. The platform you fight for takes a path through buildings and structures, which are destroyed as it moves. It's just the right amount of chaos and necessary teamwork for my tastes!

They've done a couple of special, limited-time modes since I started playing and they were both really fun too

Of course there's also TDM, for when you just want to do that.

I was booted from nearly every match I played yesterday, so I am eagerly awaiting a fix so I can play again
