You also need to have either a Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) or a Hybrid Fibre Coaxial connection.

Well, damn, I’m on FTTN. Thanks, Liberal NBN cuts that cost as much as the original NBN plan.

I have HFC but I hates it precious, it's one step up from dogshit. fibre rollout in my street literally stopped next door and no bastard will tell me why

It's a huge upgrade to just "randomly" give out, which makes me really curious about several behind-the-scenes decisions about why now, why such a big upgrade, why it's restricted to certain configurations, etc.
