Honestly, this is the best reason for Turkey to do this. Trigger NATO infighting. Couple that with the new petition to trigger Article 6 and kick the USA out of the UN, we could see some real decades happen this quarter.

I mean we all know how it works in practice but isn't Israel... not a NATO member? Theoretically there shouldn't be a problem with Turkey invading Israel.

The Biden administration repeats any israeli talking point, so we can expect Matt Miller to start getting real angry about someone threatening their precious "only democracy in the middle east as long as we ignore Turkey".
