Is this one of those "yo, you like Windows, so we put some Windows in your Windows" joke that I'm too Linux to understand?

[–] tal@lemmy.today 5 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I mean, Windows has had windows since day one.

[–] xylogx@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago

Except for tha time with Windows 8 where they tried to get rid of them.

That's a terrible name for a remote desktop application.

I'm sorry, I don't like any of these names

[–] tal@lemmy.today 2 points 2 years ago

They don't blow me away either, but I'd still rate them above what Microsoft's actually using.

I'd say at least half if those would get them sued for Trademark infringement. Once again, this is AI plagairising, but this time it's with obviously trademarked names.

Starvin' Marven Goes to Space, South Park episode.

[–] lemmywinksthegerbilking@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I miss the old south park when it had 20 episodes a season and was poorly animated lol

[–] some_guy@lemmy.sdf.org 1 points 2 years ago

I appreciate how it has developed into direct satire, though.

This is a huge hit to desktop ownership of the OS. Microsoft has officially made zero-trust a reality by doing this.

I expect there will be even more news at Ignite. Bear in mind 11 has been requiring a MS account for years and 10 is in it's final months. Pushing users to cloud only Windows allows them (and their corporate customers) complete control of the ecosystem.

How does this have an effect in anything? It's just a remote desktop application

[–] tabular@lemmy.world 2 points 2 years ago

Hope they release it for the Xbox 1

[–] Toes@ani.social 1 points 2 years ago

Is this meant to be something like snap?
