Thomas Hill (September 11, 1829 – June 30, 1908) was an American artist of the 19th century. He produced many fine paintings of the Californian landscape, in particular of the Yosemite Valley, as well as the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

I never feel like I appreciate these enough. This is the work of someone who thought this scene and others like it were so beautiful he had to hone his skill as an artist to painstakingly recreate this view to share with others. Something that we do as an after thought with our phones now.

Thank for sharing this with us, Thomas. I think it's beautiful too.

Ohhh, don't sweat it! Your take is spot on (IMO) but life's too short to worry about whether you appreciate all the art that's out there.

I believe most artists would still create their art even if they knew nobody else would ever see it. It's baked into our genes to express ourselves, to create.

But indeed, thank you artists for all the beautiful things.
