India wouldn't exactly play factionalism even then, they benefitted the most from being non aligned and playing both sides
India must be regretting its life choices in allying with Russia. China and the US are pro-Pakistan and the rest of the west is annoyed at how much they’ve helped Russia to invade Ukraine.
How could they have made different allies?
People don't know but India most likely remembers the US and the West Pakistani involvement in East Pakistan and how USSR prevented an escalation of a genocide in what is today Bangladesh.
China is with Pakistan for the port. India has nothing to offer to change that relationship.

US provided military aid to Pakistan historically. Also, Afghanistan invasion was made possible by Pakistan
I mean many old allies became enemies or just stopped the alliance. I don't see anything showing the us still being pro pakistan
