The animal’s owner, Patrick Starr, told the Associated Press that the animal’s name was Sheila and that she escaped from her enclosure.

This would not happen in Australia. I've been in parts of the outback where the stink of dead roo doesn't leave the car because you're passing one every kilometre. But everyone has roo bars.
