/c/TenFoward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Seeing sad, despondent Neelix hits that much harder. Like when he had to cope with dying and coming back, then realizing his understanding of the afterlife wasn't what he was brought up to believe.

TFW when you realize people are laughing AT you, not WITH you

Took me a while to remember, but:

Ever the wholesome one he was

Downvoted my own comment to bump this one up, lol. I always prefer insightful takes and mine is just Neelix in a Peg wig lol.

Well too bad, I upvoted it. (And this one too for good measure! And left my own upvote as well! - I am positively giddy from all this positivity, muwhahaha!)

Oh, no need for the dramatics. We're still here to have fun as well as pick apart the series we so love.

I just noticed on my rewatch last year that Neelix is a much more developed character than I gave him credit.

Folks do tend to sleep on neelix because he’s so in your face, but he’s really a lovely lil guy.

i wish voyager had spent more time with neelix's depth because it seems like there's a lot there from admitting that he made up stories about being in the talaxian military to his experiences as a first responder to the metreon cascade incident and onwards to reconciling his religious beliefs through nurturing naomi wildman.

kes knew that his comedic relief bit was forced as a means to make him more agreeable and i bet it would have a done a lot for his character if we got to see it that way more often too; some of the most outwardly happy people i know irl have gone through some terrible things in their past and their big forced smiles are functional coping mechanisms.

Agreed on all points. Could have modified a few subplots to flesh things out.

He strongly reminds me of Robin Williams.

Nanoo nanoo!

I always figured he was watching soaps or in the holodeck:

"Mr. Paris, I was watching something called a "talk show" from Earth's 20th century, and they were talking about you."

Wouldn't he just be doing what Guinan always did during off-hours?
