Elissa Slotkin, the former CIA analyst turned battleground senator, will on Thursday start road-testing what she calls a “war plan” to “contain and defeat Donald Trump.”

In the first of a series of speeches about the Democratic Party’s path out of the wilderness, the Michigan senator said she will span everything from strategy to tactics and tone, acknowledging public perception of the party as “weak and woke” needs to change. She is urging Democrats to “fucking retake the flag” with appeals to voters’ sense of patriotism, to adopt “the goddamn Alpha energy” of Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell and to embrace an “airing out” of potential 2028 presidential candidates in a broadly contested primary.

Her solution is to move to the right. She’s said shit like this before. Fuck off, Slotkin. You are not the leader we need.

Is voting to confirm Trumps nominees part of that war plan? Sucks that I didn’t have an actual liberal option in Michigan.

This sure as shit wasn't the tone of her last campaign. She campaigned on things I support. I guess I didn't notice what she wasn't saying. Well, primary her or I'm still going to be stuck with voting for her.

Let me tell you about our liberal options in Kansas…

"Ronald Reagan would be rolling over in his grave" is what she said in her state of the union rebuttal. The dems like to bring up ronald reagan as an exemplar now. Frickin Gross.

Well, when Cheney of all people walked on stage and the democrats welcomed him, that was political suicide too. Unfortunately democrat big corporate donors see nothing wrong with turning the ratchet to the right, so democrats like her will be the new normal I suppose.

Image ref: The ratchet effect.

The ratchet effect: (image of a ratchet and a gear locked by the ratchet. The ratchet is labeld blue, the movement to the right red) Image text: Democrats block movement to the left, Republicans turn everything to the right.

Nice. Pics really do a lot of heavy lifting. We need a lot more of these.

Only problem is so many people rush to defend the dems

I don't think that acting like third-rate Republicans is going to help us beat the Republicans.

So her war plan is to "be strong" but also "cave to the far right and throw minorities and women under the bus to avoid hurting their few-fees"?

The republicans and 12 dem defectors, including Slotkin, Warner, and Mark Kelly, voted to deport any non citizen even accused of a "crime", without trial or evidence.

Law enforcement can just point at you for whatever vague unproveable nonsense they want to, and you're gone. Thats the type of stuff Slotkin supports. I imagine she supports it because she is an uber zionists and wants to wield deportation against anyone who doesnt support her favorite war crimes.

Thats her version of "being strong". She means acting like a thug and violating everyones civil rights rights. And she's the darling up and comer of the DNC.

🤮 Michigan feels safer than many other swing States but Peters, Nessel, Slotkin, Stevens, and Whitmer are getting worse by the day
