Quebec passes law requiring doctors to work in the public system for 5 years after med school. Doctors will also need to obtain special authorization to work in the private system (www.cbc.ca)

Interesting concept. Im far removed from the health sector, but wondering if this is a unique strategy or if it has been tried before elsewhere?

I was under the impression under-funding was the reason health care practitioners were avoiding the public space. I'm sure a "all stick, no carrot" strategy will work wonders though.

Wow. A lot of doctors work in both Private practice and Public hospitals. I guess Quebec will be the new leader in Nurse Practitioner when all the doctors leave.
