I can't stand the ignorance

“I’m not even sure it’s legal! We contracted for the price on delivery,” he told the magazine. “If your price of fuel goes up or your truck breaks down, that’s not my problem! That’s what the contract’s for.”

Yes. And if your government imposes a new tax, that's on you, not the foreign supplier. But in any case, I'm sure there are provisions in the contract even if Canada had imposed an export tax, it's not going to be absorbed by the supplier.

This buffoon seems to think he's operating on "handshake deals". And he's part of the food supply. Terrifying.

And then he gets an article written about him to try and make us feel something for him. Ignorance just keeps getting rewarded

No, the article is good word needs to get out. Maybe a few more trumplets will reconsider next time (if there is a next time).

As a Canadian here is the response of my country: lol no.

It just sucks that our goods will cost them more and it could be enough to be unprofitable to buy them. It's bad on both sides of the border.

The farmers I know (which isn't a statistical sample) are mad about the tariffs, but concerned enough about immigration to vote for Trump anyway despite expecting these tariffs.

Sadly nobody has the guts to go up and scream immigration isn't a problem.

While at the same time so many of these dudes depend on immigrants to actually work on their farms.

The farmers I know don't use immigrant labor. This is mostly because i live in iowa where extra help is rarely needed and so immigrant cannot support themselves on farm jobs. There are plenty of legal immigrants around but they are mostly in cities because that is where they can find jobs.

My experience is from when I lived in Idaho, where they are pretty dependent on migrant laborers, generally from Mexico.

He literally didn't know! This man is running a business! Dear God, the ignorance!

I'm sure it's somehow "all da libruls fault".

I'm sure once they deport a few more asylum seekers and strip trans folks of more of their legal protections, this whole thing will go away.

“We’re taking that right on the chin,” Gilbert said.

I got something else I'll put on your fucking chin. Goddamned traitors.
