A follow up on my post a few days ago on !patientgamers@sh.itjust.works

That game is good. Like so good I have to force myself to not play today to do other stuff that optimizing my beaver colonies.

I'm traveling a lot in the coming weeks, I would like to just chill at home and play that thing ha ha

Timberborn sucked me in hard for about a week. I love watching the little beavers run around, and building hydro systems is a lot of fun! I sort of fell off trying some of the more difficult scenarios with the Iron Teeth. Dealing with harsher water conditions ends up being a lot slower and getting established become very repetitive and dull waiting for enough resources to come in to do anything. I hope they add more end-game options and challenges.

I also got really into Against the Storm, another city builder that also has beavers, but which is cleverly mixed with roguelike and boardgame elements to improve on replay value.

Start your dams and waterworks day one. Before you start planting food even, also extend the work day to get them done. Then plant, then science. That's what worked for me early game with the iron teeth. Also they've patched some of the water elements as well for better balancing.

Against the storm is wonderful.

Have you checked out colony ship? It has a heavier RPG element.

Yes, I feel like TB might get a bit repetitive down the line, but there is still a lot to do for a new player.

Also, ziplines and tunnels coming soon!

It can seem like a relatively simple game, but you can build some enormously complex, almost scifi themed, colonies.

It's a great game.

The water physics are interesting, and the beaver recreation options are super cute.

Definitely agree on both !
