Well, this year's McLaren seems to suit him better, and most importantly, Piastri seems to better handle pressure than Norris.

Yeah absolutely, I was being a bit facetious to be fair. You're right about the pressure though, although I would argue there's a lot more pressure on Norris, maybe from himself but it's still there; he's been in this team way longer, and he's been there when they were painfully slow too.

Now they're the fastest package on the grid, but Norris is throwing away results through desperate mistakes, and Piastri is no slouch. That would be enough to get inside my head, for sure!

My general impression is that Lando is his own worst enemy. His own head is fucking with him way too often. I believe he acknowledges this rather openly.

Conversely, Piastri seems to have the polar opposite characteristics. Heโ€™s almost eerily calm, controlled and collected and it makes him look utterly inflappable.

While Piastri sure experiences comparable pressure at this stage, in contrast to Lando he does not show it and hence doesnโ€™t allow the media spectacle to zero in on him to question his coping skills.

Yeah totally agree with you mate -- a bit of self deprecating humour is fine and probably even healthy but Lando is always putting himself down in interviews and it can be a little hard to watch! Especially when compared to Piastri.

When lando was quicker last year, we never made excuses like the car better suited lando or similar shit. The popular consensus was that piastri's inexperience was resulting in worse tyre wear and pace. Piastri has worked on these issues and is now just as quick while being consistent. Why is it that people are making excuses like the car suits piastri better instead of just admitting that piastri has made a big jump.

I was just paraphrasing Andrea Stella. From the article:

McLaren team principal Andrea Stella made a notable admission after the race in Bahrain as he appeared to suggest their 2025 car was more favourable to Piastri's driving style than Norris'.

Stella said: "We know that we have made some changes to the car, which made Lando's life a bit more difficult. We know technically what this is; Lando is adapting to this, potentially this might have played a bit more on Oscar's hand and we are working together to fix it."

Usurped? What a biased joke of journalism...

Way too early in the season to tell, IMHO. Norris had one 'bad' weekend, and he still ended up on the podium. They're closely matched, so it'll probably come down to who manages to be most consistent.
