I roll my own self hosting navidrome with rips of my CD collection that I've had since I was a teenager, buying new music I want to add.

I used to like Deezer. Better quality audio and cleaner interface than Spotify. But then they removed regional pricing. Unfortunately I use Spotify now because my wife likes to participate in those streaming chart activities, and it's a waste of money to pay for two different platforms. When I'm on my laptop (which is most of the time), I just use youtube music without an account. I'll probably create a free account in the future just so I can save playlists.
YouTube Premium (which includes the Music service) because even though it's not as good a Play Music was it still supports the digital locker and the extra value of no ads in YouTube.
This is how I look at YouTube too, mind you, it took a little bit of convincing to get me there, but YouTube is the most watched in our household by at least an order of magnitude.
The rest we pay for on a case by case basis.
It used to be all Netflix all the time, now we haven't had it for over six months and haven't missed it at all.
We've tried AppleTV+, Disney+, Prime and switch them on from time to time.
Also played with: Tubi, Vimeo, Twitch, Facebook, Twitter, TED, Red Bull TV, RTL, ARTE and others. Some hang around, most don't.
We also use local catch-up TV apps from our free to air channels, rarely do we use the actual antenna attached to the TV.
Our hardware is an LG TV with no internet connection attached to a 4k 64Gb Apple TV.
Works for us.
I use YouTube Music because of the alternative apps that are very simple to use. I like Metrolist but there are many others.
Would you need to pair them with an adblocker, or do some handle adblocking built-in?
It's built-in, that's the main point of those apps.
