Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.

Kind of a congrats like I'm 5 thing to share, but I filed our taxes today!

He asked me to do them 2 months ago when Elon started disrupting things at IRS & Treasury. I haven't felt up to it though. I'm not working and don't know what I want to do for work, but I don't really want to do accounting anymore. And it was kind of painful to go into my tax software and get our own things together. I'm reminded of the clients I had, even though I don't want to be doing their work, it still sucks to feel like a failure.

But I didn't mean to turn into Eeyore. I am damn proud of myself for being brave enough to put it on my to do list and then to actually do it.

That's a great thing to do! It's a painful task that's got a lot of really bad thoughts about it, it's natural to avoid it. You've faced it head on, you've not just meant to do it you've actually done it! You can be really damn proud of yourself ❤️

Thank you. ❤️ I am glad it's finally behind me. Husband isn't much of a cheerleader and was more like "thanks for doing what you'd said you'd do 2 months ago". 😔

Trying better at building each other up was something I'd hoped raise in couple's therapy yesterday afternoon but he started spiraling about an unrelated thing and the session went off the rails. We're both really struggling right now with our own uncooperative brain chemistries. We're about to go get milkshakes right now though and are trying to make today better.

Sorry kitten my comment doesn't seem to have posted, I just noticed. Its really disappointing that your husband doesn't recognise how hard this has been for you, it's not been a nice task and cheerleading would have helped.

Bringing it up in therapy was a great idea, it's a safe, managed space but then the session went off the rails. You're both struggling which makes it hard. How have things been since?

We talked over the milkshakes and turns out once his spiralling calmed down, he felt better and was more kind. Shame he took me down with him lol, but we're doing much better yesterday and today. Whew.

That's good kitten hopefully it continues and if it doesn't, lean on us

I feel ya. I procrastinated on it so long this year, which is unlike me - I usually send everything to my tax guy in like early February. But I just got it done this past Sunday. I'm proud of you for tackling this! And please don't see yourself as a failure. Everyone goes through transitional times and you'll figure out your next stage, just be patient with yourself. 🤍

What's everyone having for dinner today? I'm having fish and chips again mmm... 😋

Nice! I've never been into that really, I'm all about sweet stuff. A treat for me is a huuuuggee piece of fancy cake

[–] Corno@lemm.ee 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Love cake! Angel cake is my favourite, dunno if you'd call that fancy haha. What kind of cake is your fave?

[–] CheeseToastie@lazysoci.al 4 points 10 months ago (2 children)

All the cake. All of it. Just all cake. If I had to pick I'd say a good chocolate fudge cake or brownie. What's your favourite treat food?

[–] Corno@lemm.ee 4 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Either potato chips/crisps or fries! I'm like a crackhead with either of those LMAO

[–] CheeseToastie@lazysoci.al 5 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Haha I get that. I can't have box of chocolates in the house cos I can eat the whole thing

[–] klemptor@startrek.website 1 points 10 months ago

That's me and jaffa cakes haha

Do you make your fish & chips at home or have a chippy you go to?

I love chippies in the UK (I see you're Canadian tho), but here in Virginia, our best bet is to go to an Irish bar. And there aren't too many good Irish bars near me. 😔

[–] Corno@lemm.ee 3 points 10 months ago

There's this chippy that I love a lot and has really good value for money, I'd love to say which one it is, but it'd give away where I live 😅 an Irish bar sounds nice!
