I thought Paris and Kim were great. The real sourness was Kes, Neelix (at times), Tuvix, and the lizards
Kim was great, and Paris was okay with him, I guess. What I couldn't take was all of Paris' holodeck serials, 1950s fascination, and him being such a "rebel" although he was clearly just a frat boy born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
It's like every Star Trek show through the '80s and '90s had to have some cookie cutter, womanising "rulebreaker" (y'know, like Kirk), but not too offensive, more of the fresh faced Milquetoast, please. First season Riker, Paris, Trip Tucker...
Can't think of any from DS9, actually. Probably why it's my favourite series.
What, the transwarp salamander babies? That was so absurd I sort of loved it.
Bashir attempts to fill that role but fails spectacularly, which is fun.
Well that's obviously Morn's character.
Zing! You got me there!
