AH probably thought we'd be able to take Solidaritet before the reinforcements run out and then we'd get enough reinforcements for them to have a nice weekend. That's what I mean by we weren't supposed to lose because otherwise the loss wouldn't have fallen on Saturday early morning (AH time).
But I guess it's hard for the GM to coordinate these things when you literally spell out what needs to be done and some players just don't read the orders.
Honestly, I think it's hard on players when you'd get like, four Voxes spawning simultaneously with AA blocking eagles, and defensive strats getting blown up immediately. We burned through tons of tickets that way, trying to raise flags.
It's a very lethal combo. And with all the buildings, my orbitals wouldn't fire for ~10 seconds sometimes giving voxes plenty of time to roll out of the AoE for orbital railguns.
I think it's hard to extrapolate, but my guess is that the Voxes stopped lots of missions in their tracks, and a failed mission meant no progress towards the end goal. I believe you had to have three successful, consecutive missions for progress to count at the end of the operation.
I mean it was the GM that decided to enact the whole “save the 77th”
The entire "Save the 77th" order was given so we would have enough reinforcements to survive the weekend. But you can't get those reinforcements when players don't read the order.
Except people did and redeployed to Save the 77th. Also there was no more reinforcements to be given. Whatever the reserve levels where at was all that we would get
My bad. I assumed saving the 77th would give more reinforcements and I never saw if we actually took Solitaritat or not.
We did and thus we saved the 77th. But by that time our reinforcement budget was too low to take the Capital
