for real. they should be LITERALLY AND PHYSICALLY SCREAMING in the halls. When told “how unprofessional” they should respond with “my opponents are fascists. fuck professionalism.”

BUT since they are not burning shit down, one can only assume they are in on the fascism too.

What does that have to do with elected officials not using the power they've been granted?

[–] timbuck2themoon@sh.itjust.works 0 points 9 hours ago (1 children)

Yes all that minority party power.

[–] Cherries@lemmy.world 5 points 6 hours ago

You are falling for Chuck Schumer's lies. Back in October, the US government was shut down for over 30 days because the Democrats were using their power to force the Republicans to the bargaining table. However, it worked too well and regular people started notcing that the Dems had power, even as the minority party, so Establishment Dems conceded and reopened the government. In return, the Dems got nothing for the regular working people who gave them that power.

The minority party is not helpless. We saw this under the Obama admin where Mitch McConnell led the Republican Minorty party to rampage and obstruct the Democrats at every turn. The Dems have power, they are choosing not to exert any of it.

What have you burned down? Sounds like you’re mostly working within the system to improve it and being a reasonable professional serving the greater good in the best way you know, which is (apparently) lame.

lol. physically burning things down - as a firefighter i tend to do the opposite. but holding people accountable in a public forum like our dumb selectmen meetings and such - yes, I have done. i do not have the financial freedom to cane a fascist in the halls like the good ole days.
