Yeah, that's called a monarchy or some other form of authoritarian government.

Democracy as we know it doesn't work in the age of social media and AI "truths". Something has to change
It does. People just need better education
Of course, and the reality is it never really has worked.
If you read the early history of the founding of the United States, you see it's full of using "media" to influence the populace. Democracy has never been intelligent people having arguments without logical fallacies and convincing each other the best path forward.
Democracy is far from perfect, but it is better than the other systems of government.
