/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Also needs Babylon 5 way outside the triangle. And Lexx in a corner smoking a crack pipe.

[–] GraniteM@lemmy.world 13 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I'm not sure Lexx is crack. Maybe ecstasy or something like that. One of the uncomfortably touchy-feely party drugs where you worry that the person on it is going to start tonguing your elbow, and you really just need some personal space.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 4 points 1 month ago

Agreed but there is the faitest smitdge of meth in there as well, lets be honest.

And Lexx in a corner smoking a crack pipe.

Brilliant. And farscape?

[–] Digit@lemmy.wtf 6 points 1 month ago

Shrooms

Lexx is more like a bad salvia trip and being roofied.

with Lexx, alone, or trying to get Stargate to do them too?

EDIT : I spitballed this before I realised that ~~Cryten~~ Crichton and Aeryn were on Stargate too :D

EDIT2 : Anglo names be crazy yo

EDIT3 : You'd think Crichton would be pronounced Kr-ich-ton, but it's pronounced Kryt-n. Or at least write it Cryton or Criton or something that's consistent with the rest of the rules of english

[–] ThunderclapSasquatch@startrek.website 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Crichton is Gaelic, and predates the modern English language

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

And was it always written with the Latin alphabet?

[–] ThunderclapSasquatch@startrek.website 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

That I do not know, my knowledge of English gets spotty around the middle English era

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ogham

Well, seems that when they went form Ogham to Latin, they made some strange choices in transcription.

Makes sense, languages using the same alphabet often make mistakes in translation, going to an entirely different alphabet and language structure would only amplify that

B5 is somewhere between not trek and good trek. I love it

[–] clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I love B5. I don't remember any of Lexx, but I think I saw an episode or two as a teen.

[–] nova_ad_vitum@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Only thing I remember from Lexx are that the ship is a really powerful weapon of some kind and the scary hot girl made me feel things.

[–] clay_pidgin@sh.itjust.works 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I thought I remembered it being on Skinimax, but it doesn't look like that was the case. Why do I think Pamela Anderson was on it?

[–] SatyrSack@quokk.au 4 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (2 children)

You sure that wasn't the porn parody?

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Porn parody of lexx seems a bit redundant.

(I say this very lovingly as a massive lexx fan)

[–] ThunderclapSasquatch@startrek.website 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I looked Lexx up because I had never heard of it, why is Google linking it to a pornstar?

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

IDK, why are you asking me, a rando on the internet to explain google's demented algorithm?

https://www.justwatch.com/au/tv-show/lexx

God forbid I point out a funny coincidence, Looking into it The character with the surname Bellringer is a single character off from a pornographic actress, wonder if she's a fan lol

[–] Skullgrid@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

With what little I've seen of Lexx, I don't think the two are that far away from each other

[–] Digit@lemmy.wtf 3 points 1 month ago

I don’t remember any of Lexx

See? Like I just replied further up...

Lexx is like a bad salvia trip and being roofied.
