I've just preordered a Pebble Time 2. Never owned a Pebble before, and no real smart wath either (just a fitness watch).

I chose Pebble because of the Open Source concept.

Do you have any advice on what I can/should do, what software/apps are must-haves, or other Tipps?

I have been rocking my OG kickstarter pebble for the last 2 years, it is 13 years old. Still get around 5 days battery life. I had a Pebble Time, but it got destroyed on a door frame when I was carrying something heavy.

I can't wait for the time 2, which I ordered as soon as I heard.

I prefer analogue faces; and hop through various ones. So many to choose from.

I love that the code is now open; which ensures that the community can keep things going should the company disappear.

Rebble did a great job with limited access; but with a fully open stack the options are much better.

i also think the team has gone above and beyond to ensure the new app works with the oldest watches. That shows a real commitment to sustainability; I have even had a few firmware updates for a 13 year old bit of tech.....epic.

I think the index; being non-repariable is bad. But I like the idea of a quick voice note becoming a reminder to act later; this will be added to the new pebble which has a mic.
