After protesters called for a pause on economic activity and work to strike against the federal immigration crackdown, many business owners won’t open their doors on Friday.

It started with unions and churches as a strike. Businesses saw that they would have neither customers nor employees, and joined in.

Regardless, this is a protest. A strike goes on as long as necessary to get what you're striking for.
