I watched a movie from the 90s yesterday about civil war breaking out in America. There's a scene where one newsanchor calmly tries to report on other news and the other newsanchor has an absolute meltdown telling him "fuck off, there is no other news". I wanna see a reporter melt down like on air in real life. I wanna see the insanity be properly acknowledged

Turns out that the movie Don't Look Up may have been intended to satirize our response to climate change, but the portrayal of the media response is evergreen.

Yeah, I'm generally used to American media doing that by now but this headline is just so absurdly dismissive of non-American lives that it's infuriating
