I feel pretty directionless in life right now and would love to find a community or local organization that I can contribute to and feel passionate about. This forum doesn't seem to be super active, but if anyone out there is reading this, I am curious to hear people's experiences volunteering in/around the city, and if you have any personal recommendations based on your own interests?

P.S. I'm interested in things like wildlife/biodiversity/habitat conservation, youth education/outreach, community gardening, animal care, and the arts. But those are all pretty broad categories so if you have any experience with them please do share!

I volunteer at the Calgary Public Library. I do tech mentors, but they need Math Quest, Career Coaches, Ten Tech Labs, and ESL conversation partners. We need waaay more tech mentors! P.S. If you're on Lemmy, you qualify! Last night, I taught a lady what left click meant.
