I believe the Latitude lines are the cheaper Dell models that are probably more geared for Windows compatibility. Cheap components with lack of drivers, and don't have more tunable BIOS settings for consumers. I know the XPS line is the preferred Linux line in most cases, but search around for that model number and Linux keywords and see what comes up, as it may be fine.
At this point, I just tell people with any minor amount of computer experience to go look at the Framework refurbished store. You can get a full laptop for well under $1k USD, and then upgrade any components you want in the future.
