The US needed control of the Venezuelan oil fields to begin. We don't need to steal the oil, merely control the flow. It's, "He who controls the spice...", not "He who owns the spice..." Greenland is next.

The people who are really in charge aren't as stupid as the public faces we're given to mock. They know damned well global warming will open Greenland to mineral extraction and create year-round Artic shipping lanes with associated military bases/control. Taking Greenland is a no-brainer.

These people didn't miss the lesson of Hitler not driving for the Caucasus' oil fields at the start before attempting further expansion. And like the Nazis, I expect them to be giddy with success, see the lack of international action and bite off more than they can chew.

Now taking bets as to the excuse the US trumps (heh) up.
