Nearly five million flu cases have been reported nationwide, the CDC estimates, and at least 1,900 people have died from the virus. "CBS Saturday Morning" has more on why this year's strain is breaking records.

And when it does fit their narratives, we can still check who was involved in the work and what incentives they were under.

No, but you can cross-reference it with flu rates in other regions. Numbers are skyrocketing globally this year. Europe is seeing some of the worst numbers since pre-Covid.
