That's why I try and have trans symbols that were visible on me at all times. As an act of resistance, a fuck you I'm trans, deal with it. But also, as another form of resistance: community. A reminder that you're not alone. That if you see this, you can come and talk to me at any point, you'll be safe with me. The world sucks and family can be awful. So I don't mind being someone's big sister or cool aunt for even just 10 minutes of their lives.
Does it mean anything if I'm not trans myself? I don't want to end up in a stolen valor situation! Just want folks to know there are allies around.

i think it’s totally fine for allies to fly the trans colors! it’s easily identifiable and unlikely to lead to confusion (e.g. is that rainbow just for style??)
