Yeah, it is, but wanna know something? It's the same case in America right now. Like there are OSA style laws right now in US states and The Kids Online Safety Act will bring that federally. The police in the US, be them feds or state or local, are monitoring you and using said information against you. And this isn't anything new, The Patriot Act, passed in the 00s, demands libraries tell the government what books you have been reading, but it gets worse!
You think arresting people for calling for Asylum Seekers to be burnt alive in a tweet is a crime against freedom? (And yes, that is what that tweet said.) How's this for size:
The US already has one of the biggest surveillance states out there, you can't even read shit from the library without the government monitoring you, and they are using that to actively fuck over people. An American calling Britain a surveillance Hellscape is like a North Korean calling China an Authoritarian Nightmare.
But you know what, you're right, the UK is fucked, but let the people who live here tell you how it's fucked, not some clickbait articles:
But despite all that, despite all this, I can still do something that Americans cannot do: I can say the following without being arrested or being put on a list like:
The Prime Minister is a square headed Transphobic twat, Donald Trump is a fucking Pedophile who lusted over his own daughter and walked into changing rooms full of underage girls, Charlie Kirk was a horrible human being and him being shot through the neck made me dance around the living room. Transgender rights are human rights and transgender people are not obscene and are people who deserve rights, freedoms and liberties like the rest of us. Gender is not solely dictated by your genitals or Chromosomes, and here's an AI Generated Image of JD Vance I made where he's holding a Lolipop, wearing a propeller hat, and is running in terror from Thomas the Fucking Tank Engine.
Just to be clear, I have no disagreement with what you said. The UK has crossed some lines first in terms of online privacy violations, but I wouldn't call the US better in general. Rather, the US, or more specifically Nevada, is where I fight to oppose it, because it's where I reside. And yes, chances are my efforts will amount to nothing under the corporate hellscape we've become, but I still try.
